There are whispers in the streets that Romeo Montague has married Juliet, a Capulet. In "On dit dans la rue" ("They're Saying in the Streets"), his best friend Mercutio and the Montague family confront him about falling in love with the 'enemy' while Romeo pleads with them to understand his plight.

I recently discovered this French pop musical called "Roméo et Juliette: de la Haine à l'Amour" and haven fallen in love with its interpretation of Shakespeare's most famous play!

This particular song is one of my favorites from the score; it took about two weeks to work on my own English translation based on the original French lyrics that would serve the story and its characters. I did retain the phrase "T'avais pas le droit" meaning "you had no right" - you don't mess with perfection!
